Eating low carb isn’t the only thing you need to reclaim your body. Exercise will be needed too. I already talked about walking or using an elliptical cross trainer for exercise but you need to start strength training as well as doing cardio. The one thing that will help you now is to tone your muscles. Today I want to talk about strengthening your abdominals because they will be flabby from lack of use or from pregnancy. If you can tighten them up you will be amazed at the difference this will make to your appearance as you begin to lose weight. You can literally takes inches off your tummy by doing abdominal crunches every other day.

Doing these exercises doesn’t really require equipment but it may make it more pleasant for you. I use the floor but I also like to use a Swiss Ball or Body Ball, because it feel comfortable.

Doing these exercises will also strengthen your back. A weak abdomen is one very common reason for back pain.You can do these abdominal crunches at home and you need not change into different clothing so it isn’t any real bother but  just a matter of getting into the habit of doing it regularly.

Of course you will want to know whether or not Dr. Dukan that I have been writing about the last few days, expects you to exercise. Well he does,but please don’t go!  He tells you to go for a 20 minute walk every day. That isn’t much is it? I think most of us might even enjoy that.

Walking isn’t hard to do  - no need to sweat at all. Just a brisk walk and you will benefit from it. Now it is pretty obvious isn’t it that exercise will use up calories and calories use your fat because that is just about the only source of easily available energy while you are  eating this way.

You Could Walk On An Elliptical Cross Trainer

Now if walking isn’t something you are able to do there has to be an alternative. He doesn’t give you one but I will. I use an elliptical cross trainer myself. These machines are very gentle and you can go at walking speed on them. They feel OK and when you have your iPod or the TV for company time speeds by. I have some information about home exercise elliptical cross trainers machines here that is the Nautilus which is very popular. The other I recommend is the Schwinn 430 Elliptical. I put those reviews up because it is the most thorough way to give you all the information in one place. I like Amazon.com because they will deliver for you – usually free and they have very good discounts on their stuff.

Wii Fit Is  Gentle Exercise & Fun Too

If you don’t want to spring for a home exercise machine then another option that may suit you is the Wii Fit. I have this and it is good fun. The exercise is very easy to start you off and their are some games too.  When you buy Wii fit you will need to buy the Nintendo Console if you do not already have it. Wii includes Yoga, strength training, cardio and balance exercises.

One thing about doing all this is you will feel so good about yourself. You really will.  After the misery of failure this is a wonderful feeling- like a natural high. So don’t be lazy you can do at least one of these things can’t you?

It isn’t the exercise though that makes the Dukan Diet different. It is really the whole philosophy and understanding of the problem of putting on too much weight. Then also of course it is special because the diet doesn’t end when you reach goal. You have to keep going as he directs so that this weight never comes back.

I just added that information about Dr. Dukan’s Weight Loss system because although that is not exactly what I did to lose weight it is very similar. The thing is The Dukan Diet very thorough and what I love about it si that it keeps going for ever. Well not the weight loss part but the keeping weight off part. Dr. Dukan has a system to keep you form ever getting fat again and I love it.

It is so good to see the end of the diet taken as seriously as the beginning and the middle. Isn’t that what success means? Success is not about being able to lose a lot of weight, because we can probably all say we have done that. But how many of us have kept it off? Not you I take it or you wouldn’t be here reading this page!

Everyone will tell you they lost aton of weight on Optifast, Atkins or Jenny Craig- etc. But now they have it all back again. Dr. Dukan in his book says this is not a success story. In fact it is quite dangerous as you are feeding on your own excess fat every time you go on a diet. Horrid thought isn’t it? It means it isn’t healthy to keep doing this. You have to put a stop to it! Lose weight and keep it off. You can with this wonderful new system.

I am telling you it does work. For one thing you are eating meat or fish or eggs -ie lots of protein and as little fat as possible. You eat lean meat or fish and you cut off the fat. You can eat 0 fat yoghurt and Kwark. Now eating pure protein takes away your appetite after a few days. It isn’t at all hard not to stray if you aren’t even hungry. I promise you this makes it easy. If you have tried Atkins you may have discovered this too. I don’t know I didn’t do Atkins.
